Fantastic Four: First Steps concept art provides a fresh look at Galactus

A fresh look at cosmic villain, Galactus, from the Fantastic Four: First Steps, has been posted on social media. The new photos tease the villain attacking New York, but in a much darker setting.

The visual development supervisor, Jackson Sze, shared the images on his Instagram account and wrote, “Galactus has landed! So much fun putting this keyframe together. In the tradition of giants rampaging through cities. It was an interesting exercise trying different sizes for him.”

These photos showcase Galactus in a much menacing form as he moves toward Franklin Richards in a dark New York. As he moves further, Galactus can be seen leaving the building in his way in flames. On the other hand, in the movie, Galactus attacked New York on a bright day rather than a darker environment.

Ralph Ineson portrayed the role of Galactus in the superhero movie. While speaking to GQ about preparing for the role, Ineson said, “I had to kind of think, how do I do my job now? Which is to try and convince myself that I am a thousand-foot-tall, 14-billion-year-old cosmic vampire.”

He also stated that he “was blown away by” seeing himself as Galactus. Ineson stated, “I was expecting them to pull it off. It’s quite a sight when you first see the character, the scale. The way they shot me, to blow it up that big, was incredible.”
