A bit of a noob question sorry

Is the magnet in the case or in the phone? I got a case like the one shown in the picture and also a magnetic phone grip (I’ve tried it with a phone grip with an adhesive but due to the material of the case, it doesnt stick well).

Just wondering if a magnetic phone grip is alright to use and won’t cause damage?
