MacOS Sequoia 15.3 Update Brings Genmoji & Bug Fixes

MacOS Sequoia software update

MacOS Sequoia 15.3 update is now available to all Mac users running Sequoia.

The latest software update for Mac includes Genmoji support, which allows users with Apple Intelligence supported hardware to generate custom Emoji icons in Messages, along with changes to improve AI summaries, bug fixes, security enhancements, and some other minor changes.

For Mac users who are not running Sequoia, you will find macOS Sonoma 14.7.3, MacOS Ventura 13.7.3, and Safari 18.3 available as updates instead.

Aside from the Mac, iOS 18.3 for iPhone, iPadOS 18.3 for iPad, iPadOS 17.7.4 for older iPad, tvOS 18.3 for Apple TV, watchOS 11.3 for Apple Watch, and visionOS 2.3 for Apple Vision Pro are also available as software updates for eligible Apple devices.

How to Download & Install MacOS Sequoia 15.3 Update

Be sure you backup the Mac with Time Machine or your method of choice before starting the system software update:

  1. Pull down the  Apple menu and choose “System Settings”
  2. Go to “General”, then select “Software Update”
  3. In a moment you will see “macOS Sequoia 15.3” available to download, choose “Update Now” to start the process of downloading and installing the latest Mac software update

The Mac must restart to finish the software update, as usual.

If your Mac is running Ventura or Sonoma, you will find the updates for those particular releases available instead, along with a Safari update.

This update introduces Genmoji, powered by Apple Intelligence, and also includes other enhancements, bug fixes, and security updates for your Mac.

• Genmoji creation in Messages and other apps
• Calculator repeats the last mathematical operation when you click the equals sign again
• Easily manage settings for notification summaries from the Lock Screen (Mac with Apple silicon)
• Updated style for summarized notifications better distinguishes them from other notifications by using italicized text as well as the glyph (Mac with Apple silicon)
• Notification summaries for News & Entertainment apps are temporarily unavailable, and users who opt-in will see them again when the feature becomes available (Mac with Apple silicon)
