All the major video game releases coming in 2025 — your full schedule

If you thought 2024 had a strong line-up, wait until you see what 2025 has in store. From long-awaited sequels to fresh new titles and stunning remakes, this year is shaping up to be a proper feast for gamers. Whether you’re team PlayStation, Xbox loyalist, PC master, Switch devotee, or a mobile on-the-go type, there’s something with your name on it.

Here’s a month-by-month highlight reel to keep you ahead of the game for the end of 2025:

July: Nostalgia Meets New Adventures

We kick off with a blast from the past. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 drops on July 11, dusting off the old-school tricks with shiny new polish. It’s hitting every platform under the sun—including the shiny new Switch 2.

Then it’s blood and bullets on July 24 with Killing Floor 3, bringing fast-paced, co-op carnage to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Prefer something gentler? Tales of the Shire, a Lord of the Rings life sim, arrives July 29, promising calm strolls through Hobbiton rather than high-stakes swordplay.

Also worth noting: Grounded 2 lands in preview on Xbox and PC the same day, giving you another reason to revisit the garden.

August: Heavy Hitters Incoming

Classic fans, take note: Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater releases August 28. This remake brings all the espionage, ladders, and snakes you remember—only now it looks stunning in 4K.

Earlier in the month, sports fans get their annual fix with Madden NFL 26 on August 14, while Gears of War: Reloaded revs up for action on August 26. And if mechs are more your speed, keep your eye on Super Robot Wars Y, dropping at the end of the month.

September: Horror, Fantasy, and Franchise Gold

September doesn’t hold back. Borderlands 4 arrives September 12, ready to shower you with loot, chaos, and offbeat humour. Then on the 25th, it’s the spooky double bill of Silent Hill f and Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds—not a pairing you see every day, but we’ll take it.

Closing out the month, Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles (out September 30) gives tactical RPG fans a reason to rejoice.

October: Ninjas, Dinosaurs, and Cosmic Wonders

October opens with a flourish on the 2nd: Ghost of Yotei, the spiritual sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, hits PS5 with more swordplay and samurai soul-searching.

The 21st is a date to circle in red—Ninja Gaiden 4, Jurassic World Evolution 3, Escape Simulator 2, and more all land within hours of each other. Then there’s The Outer Worlds 2 on the 29th and Arc Raiders following right behind on the 30th.

It’s going to be a long month for your backlog.

Looking Ahead

Beyond October, the future remains tantalisingly vague. We know Death Stranding 2, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and High on Life 2 are on the horizon, even if the release dates remain a mystery for now. But judging by the year so far, the odds are high that we’ll end 2025 on a high.

This isn’t just a strong year—it’s one of the busiest we’ve seen in ages. Between legacy reboots, ambitious new titles, and some much-needed surprises, the 2025 line-up is brimming with promise.

Whether you’re itching for stealth, strategy, sports, or surrealism, you’ll find your match. So, ready your wishlists. This gaming year is going to be one to remember.
